Information on Poet-composer
poet-composer muttusvAmi dIkshitar's vAtApi gaNapatim in hamsadhvani is very famous and is sung/played at the beginning of concerts. But poet-composer tyAgarAja didn't lag behind dIkshitAr in using hamsadhvani. tyAgarAja's compositions 'raghu nAyaka' and 'sri raghukulamandu puTTi' are also very sweet. Poet-composer paTnam subrahmaNya Ayyar too used hamsadhvani very effectively in his composition 'manasu karugadEmI'. I heard the great Hindusthani flutist Hariprasad ChaurAsia playing hamsadhvani on a very bass flute followed by a shrill flute in HindusthAni style. The problem in appreciation of HindusthAni Music is, most of the compositions tend to be very long and listener has to devote his time. Then, of course, we get our due rewards for devoting our time
The mp3 presented here is based on 'raghu nAyakA'.
Information for North Indian Music - HindusthAni Music
In South Indian Music, hamsadhvani is classified under 'ShankarAbharaNam' Mother tune No. 29. In Hindusthani Music, equivalent ThATh seems to be 'bilAval'. I read some musicians classifying it under 'kalyAN' ThATh. Both seem correct.

Mother tune : #29 SankarAbharaNam. mELakarta 29.
ArOhaNa: sa, strong catusriti ri, strong antara ga, pa, strong kAkali ni.
avarOhaNa: sa, strong ni, pa, strong ga, strong ri, sa.
tALam: Adi tALam of 4/8/16 beats. Counting in each Avrittam has been tested with abc2midi.
Though I have the notation only at a medium tempo 160 units per minute, hasadhvani sounds very sweet even at higher tempos.
The mp3 file presented above is a concatenation of 3 mp3 files. The first is medium tempo. The other two use faster tempos. The three files use 2 different instruments at a time. Hence 2+2+2 = 6 instruments. In each set one instrument served as a sort of percussion.
For those who wish to make further improvements on the notation used in the above mp3 can copy down the following notation into a text editor, improve as necessary, save it as a txt file and send abc2midi command for converting into mid file. Thereafter, they can further convert into wav and mp3 formats.
