Question 1: How to create midi and mp3 files using my own notations or your notations?
Question 2: Why did you delay sharing this information?
ANSWER TO QUESTION 2
I am answering question 2 first because, it has a short answer.
I wanted to generate at least 50 music files and listen them at least for 50 days and at least for 50 times, before I could suggest it to my readers. I am not a celebrity cricketer or tennis player or filmstar who can endorse products without at least seeing them.
Now, having completed the trials, I am sharing the methods used by me to convert my notations into midi and mp3 files.
ANSWER TO QUESTION 1
I have used 'tunescript' a python program distributed by Mr. Ben Fisher, which is free and opensource under GNU Public Licence.
Following links will take you to the sites of Mr. Ben Fisher, which have instructions for download and usage of tunescript.
1. Blog of Mr. Ben Fisher: http://halfhourhacks.blogspot.in/2009/02/midi-part-3-tunescript.html
2. You need not install Tunescript. It is sufficient if you copy the folder 'tunescript' with all its files on your desktop or at any other place which you will use for composing. The tunescript folder contains the python program file main.py which is used for typing/pasting the abc notation. When you open the main.py file using python environment called PYTHON IDE, you will get the window for typing/pasting your notation. After typing/pasting press play. It will play once. Press "save as midi". You will get a midi file.
3. Two MUST haves: 1. Python IDE ENVIRONMENT 2. timidity player.
4. Tunescript works both in Windows and Linux.
5. In case of doubts you can contact the developer Mr. Ben Fisher at the email address given in the Tunescript folder. I have not so far tested the email address. I am going to test it today or tomorrow.
6. Converting midi files into mp3 can be done by using softwares such as SoundConverter.
