poet-composer
poet-composer: TYAGARAJA, ONE OF THE TRINITY of South Indian Music.
name of the composition: 'CAKKANI RAJA MARGAMU '.
Meaning of the composition: When Kings' ways are available, why do you get into labyrinthine lanes? When good milk and cream are available, why do you need the sea of Ganga waters? (Ganga waters joining at the sea are unclean and saline).
Meaning of the name: khara = sins. hara = remove. priya = dear to. The tune is very dear to the remover of our sins.
Names of tunes may not always reflect the moods they depict. I shall not say that names are just fantastic fancy. But they have little concrete or even abstract value.

It is difficult to listen to and appreciate Indian classical instrumental music without prior learning. Children in their tight homework schedules, do not have the time to spare. Hence, they are left with the film music, to fall back up on, just as we get addicted to junk food.
