%Mother tune in CarnATic Music: kalyANavasantam's Mother tune is No. 21, kIravANi. (mELakarta 21).
%What is the difference between tune kalyANi and the tune kalyANavasantam? Ans: Both are totally different tunes. We can't compare. Mood comparison: kalyAni is very popular, as it is appreciated by audience quickly. Hence it is treated as a 'rakti rAga'. No rAga is unfit for singing the divine glories of God. Otherwise, kalyANi rAga, is more eminently suitable to express delicate 'sringAra' i.e. love. The word "kalyAN(am)" in Indian languages, means something auspicious. The word 'vasantam' means 'spring season'. But strangely, the tune kalyANa vasantam, is sweet, but in my humble opinion, more suitable for 'tragic or mournful' occasions.
%ThATh in North Indian Music: The mother tune of kalyANa vasantam i.e. kIravANi may be regarded as ThATh or a main stem rAg in HindusthAni music also.
%Rhythm used in this composition: rUpak tALam in CarnATic Music. We can use a rhythm structure of 2+2+2 or 4+4+4 or 4+2 or 2+4.
%The notation furnished here and the mp3 file provided here have not done justice to the poet-composer 'tyAgarAja', regarded as one of the Great-trinity of CarnATic Music. I am too small.
%'nAda lOluDai brahmAnanda mondave' - this refrain literally means, "Oh soul! Receive the supreme bliss by swinging in 'nAdam' (divine sound).
