Meaning of the term 'varnam': Varnam is regarded as a musical composition which will present as complete a structure as possible of the tune. It covers the three octaves bass-medium-treble. Literarily, it is devotional. The writer often assumes himself as a beloved / or father of the God/Goddess, to whom the prayer is addressed. The central theme is a longing for the God/Goddess.
Language : Telugu.
Stanza 1 (called pallavi) : sAmi ninne kOri yunnAnu calamusEya mEra kaadurA.
Stanza 2 (called anupallavi) : bhUmi velayu Sri garbhapuri nivAsa pasupatISa.
Stanza 3 : notes without literature.
Stanza 4 (called caraNam. Repeats after each cycle of the notes following it) : kAmakOTi sundara nannElu kOra.
The notes which follow the charaNam are called citta svaras. The citta svaras normally do not have any literature.
In instrumental music, literature is not as important as in the vocal music. Melody (sriti) and rhythm (laya) get prominence. Experts call sriti as mother and laya as father.
Readers who are very particular about literature, may also please listen to vocal audio video files available abundantly on the net.
',' indicates period. We can either use silence or continuation of the previous note depending on need or convenience, keeping in mind sweetness, and literature in vocal music.

Note: Some errors have crept in the data entry of the notation inadvertantly. The following free download of the mp3 instrumental music file, may also contain some errors. I shall try to review and correct them after gaining experience.
