140 Listening Exercise/Ear Training in tune Dvijavanti / Jaijayavanti



Tune Jaijayavanti of North Indian Music (Hindusthani Music), is also known as 'dvijAvanti' in South Indian Music (CarnATic Music).

Belongs to khamAj thAT (music family) in HindusthAni sangeet.

DvijAvanti is a child tune of the CarnATic Music parent family (mELakarta 28)  28, called hari kAmbhOji.

It has a zig zag construction and is dependent more on specific set of notes (called pakaD or mukhyAng), rather than on a general movement along the octave i.e. ascendant (ArOhi) and descendant (avarOhi), combined name being 'mUrcHana'.
