How to get Timidity Player?

Question: How to get Timidity Player?

Answer
Timidity is available both in Linux versions and windows versions.

Ubuntu
Go to command-line.
How to: Applications-Accessories-Terminal options. Terminal is also called command-line. It is nearly equal to C: in windows-dos.

Type/paste the following command for getting the package:

sudo apt-get install timidity

Sometimes we may not have necessary sound fonts. We can get some free pats.
sudo apt-get install freepats

Windows

.
Note: I have not installed or used this windows version. Hence, be cautious.

Question: Can I use VLC Media Player instead of Timidity?
Answer: Tunescript Editor has two options.

1. Play: When you click this button, play takes place. Probably, it has its dependency on Timidity. This may not work if with VLC.

2. Save as midi: Same window has the 'save as midi' button. When we click, we get a save window, by giving a file name and okaying we get a midi file. This midi file, we can probably open using VLC or Windows Media Player or Bansee or Rhythmbox or any other player which supports midis. This is to be done outside Tunescript, after saving the midi.
